Good Deeds & Maturity

I am not a mentor but I am a mother and I'm there for my son everyday. Some people may think I'm not a positive mentor because I am young and I have a child but I beg to differ. I believe that because I have a 6 month old son and I'm still attending school, I may not be the best model for young students who are on track but I am a positive role model for young mothers. Most young parents drop out of school and their lives become more difficult as a result; I'm aware that education is important in life and I strive to do my best and go to college in order to get a job and earn a living for not only myself, but my son Zachary. I wanted to be a senior mentor but I knew that there would most likely be a lot of controversy so I decided to spare myself the drama. I don't regret having a child and I enjoy being a parent because I know I improve Zach's life everyday and although I don't have a regular senior lifestyle, I have someone who I love and depends on me.

I agree, you would make a good role model to other teen mothers because you actually take care of Zach. Also, you don't see him as a burden, like some people i know. I'm really glad you toughed it out and stayed in school. You better be coming to college with me! =]

Love you guys! <333
